Program: Contest/ Hotel reconstruction
Hotel Danube is situated in the city center of Bratislava. The leitmotif of the contest was changing the prevailing hotel function by creating new functions of residential, office, retail and parking spaces.

Macro-connection
The hotel building together with the building of Slovak National Theatre form the border points of Hviezdoslavovo square. Aside of creating no-barrier access to Hviezdoslavovo square, the idea was to develop comfort connection with Rybne square, bus station and river bank.

The building makes use of interconnections and penetrations to public and semi-public zones and creates distinctive vertical and horizontal areas for relaxation, work, shopping and living.

New building is functionally divided in three main parts. This can be observed on the façade. There are separate lobbies for offices and residential areas. South and west part of building are covered with double skin ventilated glass façades . North and east façades are composed of net metal surfaces with combination of glass elements.
